It is a group or collection of numbers put together in a fixed format, represented with the ‘square braces -> [ ]’. These numbers are arranged in rows and columns and the numbers present in the braces are called elements of the matrix.

-> Horizontal line is the row and vertical line is the column.

-> The above example is denoted as: A(2 X 3) matrices!

Examples: Classify the following matrices!

If Matrix A=Matrix B then elements are also equal.

Example:

Since matrices are equal, hence x=6 and y=-11
